Rally is a competition sport to AKC, UKC, ASCA, and more. This is a fun sport for dogs of all ages, sizes and skill level! Think of an AKC Rally event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer them through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. In AKC Rally, which is open to AKC breeds and mixed breed dogs registered in the AKC Canine Partners program (your dog does not need to be registered to start training), the team starts with 100 points, and the judge deducts points for mistakes. After qualifying three times under two different judges, the dog earns a title, which appears after the dog's registered name. There are three levels in AKC Rally: 🐾Novice, the beginner's class. The dog is on leash and there are 10 to 15 stations. 🐾Advanced, for dogs who have completed their novice title. Dogs are judged off leash. 🐾Excellent, the highest class, for dogs who have earned their advanced title. 15 to 20 stations, including 2 jumps, are used in this class. Here at Guynup’s K9 Services, LLC we offer a Monday Morning Drop-In class @ 10am! Each week will have a different course set up Drop in classes are $40 or $150 for 4 classes
